Thursday the New York stock markets opened slightly higher after losses on Tuesday and Wednesday. Wall Street is closed on Good Friday and Monday will only respond to the important jobs report that the US government presented Friday.
Dow Jones, S&P500 and Nasdaq
Shortly after the opening bell, the Dow-Jones index climed 0.1 percent to 17 707 percent and the S&P500 rose 0.1 percent to 2061 points. The Nasdaq was 0.1 percent ahead to 4883 points.
Transocean and Noble Energy
Oil and gas industry service providers Transocean and Noble Energy yielded to 1 percent. Exchange losses followed after decline in the price of US oil by 2.3 percent to $ 48.92. Brent oil was 2.6 percent lower at $ 55.59 a barrel.
